|About Mindy Ribner
Melinda Ribner whose Hebrew name is Miriam
Shulamit has taught Jewish meditation and
meditative kabbalah for over 20 years in
synagogues of all affiliation from Chabad,
Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Jewish
renewal, to new age centers such as Kripalu, Open
Center and Elat Chayyim, to national conferences
of Jewish learning such as CAJE and The Jewish
Renewal Kallah. Having been a close student to
the legendary Reb Shlomo Carlebach of blessed
memory for 20 years, she received ordination
(semicha) to teach meditation, prayer, and Torah
from him in 1989.
|Melinda has written four books on Jewish meditation, kabbalah, healing and personal growth.
Three of them, Everyday Kabbalah, New Age Judaism, and Kabbalah Month by Month are
available in bookstores throughout the country. She has also produced two CDs.
She is a spiritual guide and healer, a psychotherapist and a licensed certified social worker
(NY State Licensed LCSW) in private practice employing meditation, Torah and Jewish
spirituality as part of treatment. She received ordination (semicha) from Rabbi Zalman
Schecter Shalomi as a mashipya, maggidah, and rabbinic pastor in 2006.
She founded and directs the many activities of Beit Miriam as represented in this website.
Comfortable speaking and lecturing on a variety of topics, Miriam Shulamit's gift is in being a
spiritual guide. Her meditation workshops are often spiritual journeys offering the participant
new vistas of consciousness, expanded openings and depths to experience. She teaches in
the United States, Canada, and Israel.
